Thunderdome 08 was the absolute highlight of 2008 for us. We’ve been looking forward to this party since the day ID&T asked us to produce the official anthem.
Months ago we started working on the anthem. We wrote and recorded the vocals in our studio and from there we started building the track. 2 months before the party we were finished. We sent the track to all our colleagues so they were able to play it in their sets. They all gave us positive feedback and played the tracks many times! Besides that the anthem was released on several digital download portals. So many people were able to buy it. A cool fact about the Q-Dance store is that act of god is at number 2 of the bestsellers list. Normally you only see hardstyle track in this chart. So you can say all hardcore heads were prepared to hear the anthem at Thunderdome!!
On the 20th of December we did a sound check at the jaarbeurs. We wanted to make sure the stage was perfect for our act and that our act would sound like it should be. After the sound check ID&T played the laser intro for our live-act. It was so cool to see the lasers in synch with the music.
The party started with excellent sets by Weapon X, Meccano Twins and Evil Activities. At 1.00 o’clock it was time for us to shine. The lights went down, everything was dark. And then……the lasers appeared one by one…….after that, the sirens of psychiatric ass! The crowd went berserk when we started…..psychiatric ass combined with the amazing laser show, the strobe’s, the co2 cannons…….madness!!!
After the stunning intro we appeared on stage and started our set. We felt an energy level we never experienced in Holland before. Everybody was in the perfect party mood!! During all tracks we had so much response from the crowd. People screamed during the breaks, they clapped their hands to the melodies and they sang along all vocals. The feedback boosted our energy level as well. I think we have never been crazier on stage. The fence in front of the stage was almost destroyed by crazy gabbers (security had to stop the people from breaking it).
During the anthem the whole stage was lighted up by great fireworks. It was such an amazing feeling to play the anthem at Thunderdome. For us this was the highlight of our set. Everything came together: the great crowd, the beautiful stage, the anthem, us on stage in Thunderdome shirts. It was perfect.
After some crazy moments with Vodka in a big gun, dreadlocks on our heads, torches in our hands the live-set was over. For us it was a rush that lasted for 45 minutes. We were exhausted after our performance. But we were so happy about the show. A big up for the production team to create the great stage for our live-act.
